Is there any change in mass when a
substance changes its state? Explain
with example.

Well,it is a known fact that the different states of matter are because of the different intermolecular force of attraction between the molecules(specifically the energy of the molecules/atoms).Limiting our senses to three common states(solid,liquids and gases),we know that gas molecules are having the least intermolecular force of attraction and highest kinetic energy followed by liquids and then solids. So ,as you see mass of the object has nothing to do with its state but it is just that to change the state of an object having a greater mass,we need to extract or provide an energy in greater amount but no change in mass is involved during change of state.
