is there any change in mass when a substance changes its state? explain with example.

No there is no change in the mass as if the mass would change it would violate the law of conservation of mass.
Like if you gently heat around 5 gm of ice then the water obtained would also e 5 gms.
Like wise if you heat water and condense the vapour the masses would be equal......
