When a substance changes its state , there will not be any change in the mass of substance . For example , if we change 100 grams of water (liquid) to ice(solid) , the mass of ice will be same i.e., 100 grams . This shows there is no change in the mass even if a substance changes its state .

During the Change of state only molecule change their state. So, there is no change in mass of substance.
for example
- take a beaker and put ice cube on it .
- measure it's weight using a spring balance let it be in m1 gram.
- allow the ice to melt
- measure the again weight using spring balance let me m2 grams
- we notice that m1=m2
thus, we can say that substance dose not Change it mass on changing its state...
