When a substance changes its state , there will not be any change in the mass of substance . For example , if we change 100 grams of water (liquid) to ice(solid) , the mass of ice will be same i.e., 100 grams . This shows there is no change in the mass even if a substance changes its state .

During the Change of state only molecule change their state. So, there is no change in mass of substance.

for example

  1. take a beaker and put ice cube on it .
  2. measure it's weight using a spring balance let it be in m1 gram.
  3. allow the ice to melt
  4. measure the again weight using spring balance let me m2 grams
  5. we notice that m1=m2

thus, we can say that substance dose not Change it mass on changing its state...
