Animations are used to show that atoms and molecules are not made or destroyed. When a substance changes its state , there will not be any change in the mass of substance . For example , if we change 100 grams of water (liquid) to ice(solid) , the mass of ice will be same i.e., 100 grams .
Mass is the amount of matter. It can't change when you go from one state to another. However provided enough energy you can change your mass into energy and vice versa. No because according to the law of conservation of mass matter can neither be created nor destroyed.
