the sum of the number of protons and neutrons present in the nucleus of an atom is called its molecular mass   where as  relative atomic mass of an element is number of times one atom of an element is heavier than 1/12 of the mass of an atom of carbon-12.

molecular mas= no of protons+ no of neutrons

relative atomic mass=mass of 1 atom of the element/ 1/12 of the mass of carbon-12
