Is there any need of symbol to denote the name of element? If yes,why?

Hi friend!!

The names of elements can be very long and difficult to remember..
Such as sodium = Natrium
So to make writing of these elements simpler We try to use short forms or symbols as we call it..
Sodium is represented by 'Na'
