Length of paper, AB = l = 40cm

Width of paper, AD = b = 40cm

Area of paper = l × b = 40 × 28 = 1120 cm2

Diameter of semi-circle = 28cm

∴ Radius of semi-circle, r = 14cm

Thus, area of semi-circle = 1/2. πr2

= 1/2 × 22/7 × 14 × 14

= 308cm2

∴ Area of remaining paper = 1120 – 308 = 812 cm2

Hope this helps you out.....

Answer:

You need to subtract the area of quadrant along with the area of rectangle

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of square = l*b

=28*40

=1120 cm^2

Area of quadrant=1/4*πr^2

=1/2*22/7*14*14

= 11*2*14

=22*14

= 308 cm^2

Area of shaded region =1120-308

=812

achuaiswarya112: It's a guess ..
anuska102018: u r right
anuska102018: but the answer should be in cm square
achuaiswarya112: Yea i was too lazy to type that ,...
