Mathematics is the branch of exact nature. There is no room for uncertainty. Even the uncertainty itself is calculated here.
The definitions clearly spells that,
whole numbers are all integers from zero and above.
Even numbers are integers that are divisible by 2.
Odd numbers are integers not divisible by 2.

And a number can be either divisible by two or not, there is no other choice/option we have.
