Commonly used thermocol is polymer polystyrene.

It is a non-biodegradable polymer.

KnowMyPain: Its a crime that you should be jailed. Lol
Anonymous: jailed??

KnowMyPain: What crime?
KnowMyPain: Oh! Lol. Here, during rainy seasons, there would be plenty of such leeches and we use salt to kill it.

Thermocol is alternatively known as polystyrene which is non-biodegradable.

Polystyrene is an aromatic hydrocarbon which is a polymer made from styrene( monomer).

It responds slowly to the decomposition by bacteria and makes the soil infertile. When burnt, it gives out organic intermediates, carbon dioxide and other poisonous gases that pollute the environment.
