It is an AC generator as the AC generator has full rings.

In DC generator ther is no full ring .There are split rings as the electric

Motor. AC generator has GALVANO meter and DC generator has battery.

Mark it as brilliant.....

basically the generators are motors

only difference is that the motors conserve electrical energy to produce mechanical energy while a generator produces electrical energy by taking mechanical energy

now difference between AC and DC generator:

DC generator:

in a dc generator the armature ABCD if rotated only in one direction(clockwise or anticlockwise) hence it produces DC current. In dc current the direction of current and magnitude remains same all the time.

AC generator:

in ac generator the armature ABCD for rotates for 1/2 cycle that is it rotates only for 180 degrees in clockwise direction and then after that it rotates 180 degrees in the opposite direction(anticlockwise) or vice versa. hence it generates ac current whose magnitude and direction changes continuously.

now for example take the fan in you house.

u get ac current at home.now u will have a doubt why does the fan rotates only in one direction if ac current is there.it's because the ac current is converted in dc with the help of rectifier in the fan.if it is not converted into dc then the fan will run first in clockwise direction for few seconds and then in anticlockwise direction for some seconds and it will continue forever.

hope this helps you ;)

and about the diagram pls send the content written below the diag. then only i can say whether it is ac or dc because both the generators have pretty much the same diagram.
