Answer: I am sorry to say but your equation is unbalanced. The correct and balanced equation is

CH4 +3O2---> CO2 +2H2O

Explanation:

You see we can how much ever O2 we require

So start with CH4

We have 4 h and for water we require 2 H per molecule ,So we have 2 water molecules per Ch4 molecule

Also carbon in methane =carbon in carbon dioxide so no need for any change here

Thus co2 is 1, H2O is 2

Now count total O2 molecules

we have 6-O

Thus 3O2

Hence the equation is now balanced
