No, this statement is not correct.

Incorrect: He asked if anyone has seen his sunglasses.

Correction: He asked if anyone had seen his sunglasses.

Why is "has" wrong?

  • The sentence is in past tense and this can be justified by the usage of the word "asked". When the sentence is started with the firt verb in past tense, the whole sentence shall be in past tense. thus, instead of "has", "had" will be used.

nibha15jan1981: But this ca be in present tense.
nibha15jan1981: *can
nibha15jan1981: Because it is a reported sentence.
nibha15jan1981: And reported sentence always uses asked, inquired or demanded.
