is this situation in ARTHEMETIC PROGRESSION

the amount of air present in the cylinder when a vacuum pump removes each time 1/4 of the air remaining in the cylinder

please give step by step explanation of answer​

ANSWER :

INITIAL QUANTITY OF AIR = 1

QUANTITY REMOVED IN FIRST STEP = 1/4

1-1/4= 3/4

= 3/4 × 1/4 = 3/16

= 3/4 - 3/16 = 12-3/16 = 9/16

HERE EACH SUBSEQUENT TERM IS NOT OBTAINED BY ADDING A FIXED NUMBER TO THE PREVIOUS TERM.

HENCE IT IS NOT AN AP.
