No brother your answer is not
correct.

It is just the converse of identity -

(a+b)×(a-b)=a^2-b^2.

But what you have done wrong is that you have made a minus sign, but there is one plus and one minus sign.

so

x²-16

=>x²-4²

=>(x-4)(x+4)
