⭐️Velocity is always speed and the direction of motion whereas speed is just the magnitude of how fast! More specifically, velocity is change in displacement over time whereas speed is just total distance traveled over time. The difference can be seen in the following situation: 

If you walk to a campsite 1 mile away and then back to your start point within 1 hour: 
Your average speed would be: total distance/time = 2 miles/1 hour or 2 miles per hour 

On the other hand, since your end up at your starting point, your average velocity would be: 
total displacement over time = 0 miles/2 hours = 0 miles/hour since your displacement is 0
