A 2.0 cm tall object is placed perpendicular to the principal axis of a
convex lens of focal length 10 cm. The distance of the object from the
lens is 15 cm. Find the nature, position and size of the image. Also
find its magnification,and also draw the lens​

Answer:

Nature of the image = Real, Inverted and Enlarged

Position of the image = 30cm from the lens in the other side

Size of the image =  4cm

Magnification = Enlarged

Explanation:

h= 2cm

f= 10cm

u= -15cm

From lens formula,

i/v - 1/u = 1/f

1//v = i/f + 1/u = 1/10 + 1/-15

      = 1/10 - 1/15

1/v  = 3/30 - 2/30

Therefore, v =30cm

As v is positive, the image is real.

m = v/u = hi/h

   = 30/-15 = hi/h

Therefore, hi = -4

Hence the height of image is 4cm.The image is enlarged. The neagtive sign of the magnification suggests that the image is inverted.Hence, the image is real, inverted and enlarged
