Hopes Apparatus is a device used to study the anomalous behaviour of water.
Thomas Charles Hope is Professor of Chemistry at Edinburgh University 1795 to 1843.
Hopes Apparatus published the paper Experiments and Observations upon Contraction of Water by Heat at Low Temperatures.
Hopes Apparatus showed water have the maximum density at the temperature 4°C.
