Is variable resistance and rheostat are same class 10th please give easy explanation​

Explanation:

Resistance and rheostat are both the same but different functionality. I have a resistance . I connect it in series with bulb and battery. Current flows bulb glows, very good.

Then, I want to change the current in the circuit while it is working. To do that, as per ohm's law, I need to change the resistance. So my application demands a resistance whose value I can control i.e. Rheostat.

Resistance is defined as phenomenon of opposition to the current in electric conductor or the capacity to resist.

while as rheostat is an electrical resistor, with two terminals whose resistance is continuously variable by moving a knob or slider.
