the formula of vinyl alcohol is as follows. CH2=CHOH
Here carbon atom have three sigma bonds and one pi bond... Hence carbon is sp2 hybridised carbon.
if carbon atom have three sigma bonds then that carbon is sp3

Answer:

Vinyl alcohol is sp2 hybridized.

Explanation:

  • Vinyl refers to the functional group -CH=CH_{2} , which is created by eliminating hydrogen from an ethylene molecule.
  • Since R can be any other group of atoms, the usual chemical formula for vinyl compounds is R- CH=CH_{2}.
  • Carbon atoms in vinylic groups are sp2 hybridized.
  • Therefore, Vinylic alcohol is a kind of monohydric alcohol that has a -OH group attached to a carbon-carbon double bond and has a carbon atom that has undergone sp2 hybridization. Eg - Vinyl alcohol (ethenol).
  • The simplest -enol is vinyl alcohol, often known as ethenol (IUPAC name).
  • It is a labile compound with a chemical formula CH_{2}=CH-OH that breaks down to acetaldehyde.
