is VIRUS a "biotic" or "abiotic" component....??!!

Ninjarx1: i think bindu32 is right because it was a big debate for scientist that does virus is a biotic thing or a non-biotic thing because it act like a living thing and when it is out of a host cell it act like a non-living thing as bindu said and i am also prety sure.

they are ABIOTIC component as they are non living being...and can't reproduce


vlad: but my friend when they are inside a host they reproduce rapidly...
vlad: whereas when they dont get host they lay dormant for centuries..

virus is abiotic because it is non living. it is unable to grow and reproduce without host cell
