A weak acid is one that ionises only partially to produce a low concentration of H+ ions. An example would be ethanoic acid - CH3COOH.
A strong acid is one that ionises to a high degree to produce a high concentration of H+ ions. An example would be hydrochloric acid, HCl

If a strong acid is diluted with a large volume of water, it becomes a dilute solution of a strong acid. Dilute HCl for example.
