Wood fuel is a natural, sustainable, and carbon-efficient source of energy. For both economic and environmental reasons we need to find alternative, renewable fuels. With a rich supply of wood available in Cumbria, burning wood is an attractive and sensible solution.

Explanation:

Why is wood not used as a fuel?

Because dry wood produce more amount of smoke and its calorific value is less than LPG or any other fuels which we use as domestic fuel. Answer: Because they produce smoke or carbon dioxide which is a major source of air pollution and global warming.
