Correct Expression :- x³ – 3x² + 4x – 4.

To Find :-

Whether (x – 2) is a factor of this polynomial or not?

Solution :-

Factor of Polynomial = (x – 2) = 0.

So, The Value of x = 2.

Now, Substitute this value in the polynomial.

➨ x³ – 3x² + 4x – 4 = 0.

➨ (2)³ – 3(2)² + 4(2) – 4 = 0.

➨ 8 – 12 + 8 – 4 = 0.

➨ – 4 + 8 – 4 = 0.

➨ 8 – 8 = 0.

➨ 0 = 0.

Therefore,

It is a factor of the given polynomial.

Given -

  • Polynomial P(x) = x³ - 3x² + 4x - 4

To Find -

  • Is , ( x - 2 ) a factor of the Polynomial ?

Solution -

As ,

 \longrightarrow \: \rm(x - 2) = 0

 \implies \rm \: x = 2

Put ( x = 2 ) in the given Polynomial..

 \longmapsto \rm \: {2}^{3} - 3( {2}^{2} ) + 4(2) - 4

 \longmapsto \: 8 - 3 \times 4 + 8 - 4

 \longmapsto \: 8 - 12 + 8 -4

 \implies \: 0

So ,

It is a factor of the given Polynomial...
