Using remainder theorm
X+5=0
X=-5
PUTTING VALUE OF X
-5³+2×-5²-14×-5+9
-125+50+70+9
=4 ≠ 0

So it is not a factor

Hope it helps :)

Let x+5 is factor so,x=-5
x cube+2 x square -14x+9
Put x=-5
(-5) cube +2(-5) square -14*5+9
-125+2(25)+70+9
-125+50+70+9
-125+129=4
4 is not equal to 0
So it is not a factor
