expanding we get,

x⁴ - 2 × x² × √2 + 2 = 2

Cancel 2 on both sides,

x⁴ − 2 × x² × √2 = 0

Take the common factor outside,

x²( x² − 2√2 ) = 0

=> x² = 0 Or x² − 2√2 = 0

=> x =0 Or x² = 2√2

=> x = 0 Or x² = 2.82842712474619

=> x = 0 Or x = √2.82842712474619
