let her actual age be x yrs
therefore
(x-5)² = 5x + 11
x² + 25 - 10x = 5x + 11
x² - 15x + 14 = 0
x² - x - 14x + 14 = 0
x(x-1) - 14(x-1) = 0
(x-14)(x-1) = 0
x = 14 or x = 1
but if she is 1 yr then she can't be 5 yrs younger (as age can't be negative)
therefore x = 14
therefore she is 14 yrs old
