Introduction to Playing Cards: A pack of playing cards consists of 52 playing cards which are divided into 4 suits of 13 cards each:

The four suits are: Spade♤, heart♡, diamond◇, club♧.

Spades and clubs are of black colour i.e, 26 black cards and hearts and diamonds are of red colour i.e, 26 red cards.

The 13 cards in each suit are-

Ace (A), King (K), Queen (Q), Jack (J), 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2.

The kings, Queen and Jack are called face cards.

Explaination: Total no. of outcomes=52 No. of outcomes for getting a face card=12

Probability of an event= No. of favourable outcomes/ Total no. of possible outcomes of the experiment

Probability of getting face card= 12/52=3/13
