he was championed cause of female education as an inspector of schools he set up as many as 35 schools for girls.many of which were run on his own expenses.he set ip first indian school for girls in calcutta (now known as kolkata) in 1849.he also get successful in passing widow remarraige in 1856.

ishwar chandra vidya sagar was a great multi talented social reformer of the ninteenth century ....he was great educationist a tireless and a great scholar ...he also tried to modernize the bengal prose...he was born on 8 september ,1820 in a orthodox brahmin family .he graduated in sankrit college..
