Solution:-

4 {y}^{2}  - 8y + 3

 =  4 {y}^{2}  - (6 + 2)y + 3

 =   4 {y}^{2}  - 6y - 2y  + 3

 = 2y(2y - 3) - 1(2y - 3)

 = (2y - 1)(2y - 3)

Some useful identities:-

 {a}^{2}  -  {b}^{2}  = (a + b)(a - b)

 {(a + b)}^{2}  =  {a}^{2}  +  {b}^{2} + 2ab

 {(a - b)}^{2}  =  {a}^{2}  +  {b}^{2} - 2ab

 {a}^{3}  +  {b}^{3}  = (a + b)( {a}^{2}  +  {b}^{2}   + ab)

 {a}^{3}  -  {b}^{3}  = (a + b)( {a}^{2}  +  {b}^{2}  - ab)
