Isolation of heating coil from metallic body in an electric iron is carried out using a Thermostat.

In an iron, at moderate temperature, the pin remains in contact with bi metallic strip. When the iron gets too hot, the thermostat makes the strip to start bending towards the metallic base as such that they are no more in contact and the current no longer flows through it. This helps lowering the temperature of the iron.

Thank you for asking. I hope the answer helped you.

This should consider an electric material which is essential for brining garments that is passed through a coil.

It is considered and iron exceeds a certain limit and strip begins to bend towards metal with an element presents.
