●Iso pentane and neo pentane are two different isomers of pentane.

=>Iso-pentane is an isomer of pentane, in which 4 atoms of carbon are in straight chain, whereas one carbon atom is branched.


The IUPAC name of isopentane is 2-methyl butane.

=> Neo pentane isan isomer of pentane, in which 3 carbon atoms are in a straight chain, whereas 2 atoms are branched with the middle carbon atom, making another chain of atoms. 

The IUPAC name of neo-pentane is 2,2-dimethyl propane
