Isotherms generally trend east -west why??

Not all isotherms run in an east-west direction, but most of them do. This is because ... The general trend of the isotherms are from north to south or east to west? North to south.

Lhabgyelmo: There is more water area in the southern hemisphere resulting in uniform temperature distribution so there are less bands in the isotherms and their east -west trends is more to nothern hemisphere
