Let's firstly understand what is a constant term!

A term which is not a coefficient of any variable, or a term without any variable is a constant term. In the general form of quadratic equation, constant term is donated by c.

General form of equation:

ax²+bx+c=0

Here c is constant term.

Let's solve the problem!

Given equations:-

• 4x+7

• 3x²+2x+3

To find:-

• Constant term

Solution:-

To find the constant term, first we will arrange it in the form of general equation, then we will compare both equations.

• 4x+7

Here we can see that after comparing it with general equation, we see that coefficient of x²(a) is 0, b is 4 and c is 7. We know that c is constant term.

So the constant term is 7.

• 3x²+2x+3

Here after comparing this equation with general equation, we can notice that coefficient of x²(a) is 3, b is 2 and c is 3. Since the constant term is c.

So the constant term in this equation is 3.
