yes it became necessary to carry out operation blue star because people of khalistani movement become more aggressive and kill their own brothers like hindu punjabi and nirankari sikh . they blew up buses and the biggest mistake they have done is that their leader sit on the higgest chair made for only GURU and they do not take off their shoes and at that time Asian games were held for the first time in India and Indian govt. did not want to loose chance because they got info that khalistani were planning something big for Asian games so as that they can show their power and they were killing the politicians also who cheated them and our pm was also one of them so in order to suppressed them and make their vote bank in punjab congress govt. launch operation blue star

(i) In 1980, the moment for ‘ independent khalistan ’ took root in Punjab.

(ii) During that period, the leader of the the Akali Dal was sent Harcharan Singh Longowal. He used to direct his activists from the Golden Temple to stage protests.
