the cost of fencing a square field at rate of ₹8.5 per m is = ₹8704

therefore perimeter of the square field = 8704/8.5

= 1024

we know that all sides of square is equal.

so, side × 4 = perimeter

==> side × 4 = 1024

==> side = 1024/4

==> side = 256m

VERIFICATION:-

perimeter of the square field = side × 4

= 256 × 4

= 1024m

hence verified

thus the side of the square field is 256m.

now,

area of the square field = side²

= 256 × 256

= 65536m²
