It costs Rs. 2200 to paint the inner curved surface of a cylindrical vessel 10 m deep. If the cost of painting is at the rate of Rs. 20 per m2, find
(i) inner curved surface area of the vessel,
(ii) radius of the base,
(iii) capacity of the vessel.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

(i) cost of painting=inner curved surface area×rate of painting

2200=inner curved surface area=20

2200/20=inner curved surface area

110=inner curved surface area

The Inner curved surface area of the vessel is 110 m²

(ii) Let the radius of the cylinder be r

height=h=10m

we know that C.S.A of cylinder=2πrh

=2×22/7×r×10=110

r=110×7/2×22×10

r=7/4

r=1.75 m

(iii) we know that

height=10 m

radius=1.75 m

The capacity of vessel=volume of vessel=πr²h

=22/7×1.75×1.75×10

=22/7×3.0625×10

=22×0.4375×10

=96.25 m³
