Distilled water is neutral in nature, and this can be tested by using red and blue litmus paper. In either of the cases, colour remains unchanged.

A neutral solution is a solution which is neither acidic or basic in nature ( pH = 7). Example: a salt formed by the reaction of strong acid and strong base is neutral in nature. Hence, this solution does not change the colour of litmus paper. Example: Distilled Water
