He was easily influenced and persuaded. He was a man of self sacrificing nature who would yield to everybody. He was ready to sacrifice his carrer for his son.

As described in the story Bill Bramble was a professional boxer who was proud of his skills and cared about his family a lot. The way he sacrifice his name and fame to give a comfortable life to his son 'Harold' was amazing. He hid his true identity from his son. Even he decided to give up his last fight with Jimmy Murphy because he thought that Harold would not get to know his truth that he was a Professional Boxer. A simple and humble man, he took no time in forgoing the satisfaction of giving a name of his own choice to his son and letting his wife have this pleasure this showed his love for his wife. Bill could easily be influenced by anyone. At last we can conclude that Bill Bramble was a perfect man, who cared about his family a lot.
