It had been more than an hour since Whitney waited for a train to come on platform number ONE. It was rather unusual. The crowd was getting larger and Whitney was getting impatient. She looked at her watch which showed ten-thirty. She was dismayed and yet again looked to see if the train was anywhere in sight.
To her utter shock and disbelief, she saw and heard a man with his face covered shoot at another man in a grey shirt and run the other side. Whitney was so shocked that she couldn’t move. She had heard of such news reports in the newspapers, but this was the first she saw close-up.
She was still in a state of shock, but she knew she had to act fast. She ran towards the man who was shot. Whitney is a doctor, her first instinct was to save the person. The police immediately arrived and cordoned off the area. The railway police acted fast and there was a railway doctor there looking for any signs of life. Alas! The man was dead! They moved him into an ambulance and moved away. Whitney walked up to the investigating officer and gave all the details of what she saw of the man who had the gun. She gave her visiting card to the officer and said she could be called in case they wanted any details from the public. Having done her duty as a responsible citizen, Whitney walked away.
