For a long time, Frost ponders over the two options. In the end, he realizes that all paths lead to the same destination, so it is the path that matters and that the path is superior. Robert, ultimately, decides to take the second road, which is tougher but more rewarding.

That choice of taking the second road is the one which has changed his life for the better, thus making it more satisfying than the average way of life. Therefore, Frost writes that it is his decision of taking the road less travelled by "that had made all the difference".
