It has been suggested that icebergs could be towed from the poles of the Earth
for use as supplies of drinking water in the Middle East. Suggest two reasons
why this could be a better source of drinking water than desalination plants​

The icebergs is the gift of the nature. By towing the icebergs, it can be melted easily for the drinking water because icebergs contain fresh and pure water which is fit for drinking.

On other hand, desalination plants​ can't be afforded by each and every country in a large scale for the purification of water. There costs of desalination are not just monetary but environmental as well. Sea life can get sucked into desalination plants, killing small ocean creatures like baby fish and plankton, upsetting the food chain. Other disadvantage is that Pumping this super salty water back into the ocean can harm as the salt concentration would increase which is not good for aquatic life.
