Some general precautions, that should always be followed, are given below:--

1. Never touch electrical connections or devices with wet,or bare hands. Ordinary water is a reasonably good conductor of electricity and if electricity where to flow through a person's body,it could lead to serious injuries or even death.

2. Never try to fiddle with, or open, an electrical applicance,or device, when it is connected to the mains.

3. Always respect the 'warming' signs. Do not go near any set up where the word 'danger' is written.

4.Always consult the manufacturer, or your electrician, if you have any doubts about the method/way of using some electrical appliance or devise.

5. It is always a good idea to use rubber/plastic gloves or rubber soled shoewear, while working with electrical devices/ appliances.
