It is a common observation that our breath is warmer than the air around us ,does respiration have anything to do with this

Answer:

The air which we inhale should be at our body temperature, if its not than severe damages can be done in respiratory tract. Air is brought at our body temp by moisturizing it.

So, it is mandatory the air should be at our body temperature. While we exhale it get little more warm due to waste i.e. CO2, etc present in it.
