Kashmir is the diisputed territory between India and Pakistan since 1947 during partition.

Explanation:

Kashmir is the muslim majority region but ruled by Hindu ruler, Maharaja Hari Singh. He want remain independent; neither joined to India nor Pakistan.

India tactically annexed Kashmir through Instrument of accession when Pakistan army invaded Kashmir territory. That time India approached UN and all forces remain stationary, still Pakistan occupied kashmir is disputed area this dispute was further complicated by 1971 and 1999 war.

If India and Pakistan plan to solve this dispute there will be terrorist attacks in India, so India demanded to Pakistan to curb the terrrorism in their own land.

Recently USA president also announced to mediate the KAshmir dispute but India ignored.
