• Mr. Hamels instantly identified that the evident trouble with Alsace was that it put off learning until tomorrow. It meant the citizens of the city did not do their work on time or when it was significant to do it. Rather they often used to delay it and put it off later.  
• It was because they've had a lot to reproach themselves with. The parents didn't have enough pressure for their kids to learn and then chose to put them to work on a farm or at mills so they could have more money.
