it is commonly observed in rainy season,that leather shoes are spoilt due to fungi growing on it. why is it so? how does the season promotes growth of fungi on leather?

In rainy season....all the time humidity and wetness is all over the atmosphere.In case of leather shoes or material.Due to unavailability of sunlight and dryness fungi grow on it.Rainy season promote the growth of fungi by mainting humidity in atmosphere,which is favourable condition for fungi growth.
