It is desired to obtain erect image of an object using convex lens of focal length 10 cm.
a) What should be the range of the object distance in the above case?
b) Will the image be smaller or larger than the object? Draw a ray diagram to show the image formation.
c) Where will the image of his object be, if it is placed 20 cm in front of the lens?

as per the question mentioned above:

a)let o is the center of the lens.

let f1 be the first focal length of the lens.

let f2 be twice the distance from the center o and f1.

i)the object must be placed in from of the lens before the focal length f1.

i.e between 1 to 9 cm for this question.

ii) it will be enlarged.it will be very large and it will be erected.

iii)if the object is placed 20 cm then the image will be formed behind the lens at the same position .i.e by the property if the object is placed at f2 then the image formed will be of same size and inverted.
