It is difficult to burn a heap of green leaves but dry leaves catch fire easily. Explain.

Dry leaves catch fire easily than heap of green leaves because of difference in their ignition temperature.

Explanation:

A green leaf due to presence of chlorophyll performs photosynthesis and due to present of stomata performs respiration. As a result of which it has high moisture content in it and its high ignition temperature.

On other hand, dry leaves lack all the vital organs in it and has no moisture and thus has less ignition temperature.
