It is difficult to open the door by pushing it or pulling it at the hinge. Why ?

It is difficult to open the door by pushing it or pulling it at the hinge as torgue = force *
Perpendicular distance from the axis of rotation
Therefore force as the distance increases torgue also increases. If you apply force at the hinge means distance is less and more torgue is required.

It's difficult to open the door by pushing or pulling near the hinges because more force is applied near the hinges of the door. That's why door knobs are situated away or far from hinges.
