it is difficult to walk on sand than on a road.why?​

Answer:

There is less friction between sand and feet by that the more time is needed to walk on sand so by that the magnitude of force get decrease so it difficult to walk on sand. Since concrete road is more leveled than that of sand, the contact area is more with the feet so that friction will be more.

Answer:

When we walk barefoot on the sand, the sand yields under our weight.  When we push off some of the ground that were meant to support ourselves, gets pushed away rather than staying in place. So, we do not get proper normal reaction i.e. friction force that helps us to walk.
